Ukrainian Society of the University of Edinburgh
The Ukrainian Society at the University of Edinburgh is a dynamic student-run community that unites Ukrainians studying at the University and all those interested in Ukraine. Its core purpose is to support
Ukrainian students, promote the richness of Ukrainian culture throughout the United Kingdom, and uphold the values that define the Ukrainian spirit in everything it does.
The Society’s goal is to cultivate an engaging cultural and social environment for Ukrainians and friends of Ukraine in Edinburgh. Throughout the academic year, it hosts a wide variety of events — from traditional festivities and educational lectures to charity projects and fundraising campaigns dedicated to assisting Ukraine and its people.
Actively contributing to the preservation and development of Ukrainian identity, culture, and dialogue, the Society plays an essential role within both the University and the broader Scottish community. It is a proud member of the Ukrainian Societies Union (USU) — a nationwide organisation linking Ukrainian student groups across the UK — and also participates in the Ukrainian Political Network at the University of Edinburgh.
In addition to its academic and social activities, the Society publishes its own magazine, Diiaspora, and runs the cultural initiative EXOTONE, both of which showcase contemporary Ukrainian art, ideas, and creative expression.
Anyone may join as an Associated Member, while Full Membership is reserved for current students of the University of Edinburgh and costs £5. Membership can be purchased via the official Student Association website: https://www.eusa.ed.ac.uk/shop?activity_id=513
